WHAT TO EXPECT OUT OF YOUR WHOLEBODY CRYOTHERAPY SESSION
The whole body cryotherapy sessions are conducted by a trained and certified technician who remains with you for the duration of your session. Inside the cryochamber you will only be wearing socks, slippers and gloves; men also wear briefs. This allows for 90% of your skin to be exposed to the hyper cool air. It is fine to leave your hair down and have on face lotion or makeup. We ask that you do not apply lotion or any moisture to your skin an hour before your session. No jewelry or metals can be worn below the neck.
Your first whole body cryotherapy appointment can take anywhere between 15-20 minutes so that we can fully educate you on the process and answer any questions you may have. After the first appointment, sessions typically take 5-7 minutes.
THE PROCESS OF CRYOTHERAPY
Once you are in the cryochamber, the temperature begins to fall until it reaches your treatment temperature which could range anywhere from -200F to -240F. During this session blood vessels and muscles begin to constrict (Vasoconstriction), causing blood flow away from peripheral tissues and toward your core. This is where your body's natural filtration system kicks in and starts the process of removing toxins and inflammatory properties of the blood.*
When you have completed your session (3 minutes max), your blood vessels dilate (vasodilation) and the flow of nutrient oxygenated blood flows through your body and muscles. you will typically feel an increased range of motion. We recommend going on our stationary bikes for 5 minutes to enhance the process.*
Over the next few days, you may experience reduction in inflammation, better sleep, an increase in energy levels, recovery times from workouts or injuries are shortened and improved.*
